WHAT DOES UPF 50 MEAN?

UPF is a worldwide standardised sun protection value (Ultra-Violet Protection Factor).It defines the textile's degree of protection, and more precisely, the proportion of transmitted UV rays.It must keep out at least 95% of UV rays to meet the standard. UPF 50 means that the textile blocks at least 95% of UVA and 98% of UVB.

BEHAVIOUR IN THE SUN?

Although these UV-protection swimsuit bottoms provide protection from the sun, other factors such as reflections (from water, sand, etc.), heat, time of day, and so on, must be taken into account. Wearing these swimsuit bottoms does not exempt the wearer from following the relevant advice: wear sunglasses, regularly apply suitable sun cream, wear a hat, wear a UV protection top or T-shirt, drink regularly, etc.
